1. Welcome

2. Introductions
i. Number Attending: 25.
ii. Attendees Were: Suzy Reininger – Co-Chair, Sarah Elliott – Deschutes County Mental Health, Heather Voris, Joel Morris, Chris Clouart, Maralyn Frazier, and Allan Flood – Bethlehem Inn, Bob Moore – DSCO-Copy Program, Chuck Geschke – Cascade Youth and Family, Lisa Radford – Methodist Church, Loomis Goode –Shepherd’s House, Dulce Medary – Healthy Beginnings, Bruce M. 3. AGENCY UPDATES:
i. Donna Beegle
1. At the First Presbyterian Church
2. Tuesday, March 10th from 7 to 8:30 PM.
3. Admission is a donation of canned goods or a check for he food bank.

ii. Kevin Barclay – Library
1. Use is up by 20%. Staff is steady.

iii. Karen Yeargain – Crook County Health Department and The Oasis
1. They will be holding a small PHC in May (Crook County Connect).
2. Info will go out to LISTSERV.
3. There will be a planning meeting on March 5th.

iv. Woody Medeiros – Grandma’s House
1. A new baby boy was born.

v. Chuck Geschke – Cascade Youth and Family
1. Moved to Dagget Lane.

vi. Loomis Goode – The Shepherd’s House
1. Downsizing to 24 beds.
2. Shutting down offices.
3. Moving into the main building sometime in the next month.

vii. Mark Tomaro – COVO
1. Requests time next meeting to talk about upcoming fundraiser.

viii. Maralyn Frazier and Allan Flood – Bethlehem Inn
1. One family unit open.
2. The Non-Violent Communication Groups are working well for couples and those with anger issues.

ix. Corky Senecal – NeighborImpact
1. Nancy’s House Shelter is full.
2. There is one opening in Transitional Housing in Prineville.
3. There is some relief through the stimulus package for the weatherization program.

x. Linda Walker – Oregon Coalition on Housing & Homelessness
1. Conference is coming up.
2. Scholarships are available.

xi. Deb Price – Oregon Housing and Community Services
1. Stimulus money is due to flow through their agency.
a. No idea what that will look like.
2. The Neighborhood Stabilization Program Remains on Hold.

xii. Dulce Medary – Healthy Beginnings
1. Grin and Bear It Run to benefit Healthy Beginnings.
2. March 14th.
3. Dulce handed out entry forms.

xiii. Bruce Jaqua – Housing Works
1. Bruce handed out schedules for Ready to Rent Trainings now available.

4. Chris Clouart, Bethlehem Inn – Homelessness Marathon (Radio)
i. Radio time for people experiencing and caring for homeless and those in poverty.
1. An opportunity for people to speak in their own words and define themselves.
2. Will broadcast February 23rd, from 6-10 PM at 106.7 FM (KPOV).
3. Will be on 200 stations across the nation.
4. To hear streaming audio from around the country: www.homelessnessmarathon.org.

5. Suzy Reininger, HLC – HLC as the Umbrella for Severe Weather Plan on 211
i. Group agrees.
ii. Steps will be on the voicemail system for the rest of the year.
iii. The group will be meeting in a couple weeks to plan for next year.

6. Michael Hensley, NeighborImpact – HLC Website
1. Working on improvements for website.
2. Wants to determine what we (HLC) need.
a. Promote activities and events.
b. If you want something on the site, please make it known, including how you want it to look.
c. Perhaps not have it go through Jo Anne?
3. Corky – current site is about us and what we are doing.
a. Should we open it up to others?
b. Fear of it becoming a bulletin board.
4. The website should become a regular agenda item.
a. At each monthly meeting, individuals will present what they would like to have posted, then move ahead as it is agreed upon by group.
b. Suzy and Sarah can review requests if they come in mid-month.
5. Bob Moore will write the Main Page.
6. Please check your contact information on the website and send changes and/or additions to Jo Anne.
7. If the posting of the agenda is to be relevant, it will need to come in sooner.
a. Suzy will tackle that.
8. Bob M. is willing to create information pages for our events (PHC, STEPS, ONHC, etc) that are posted on our website when the event is not in process.
9. Needed: a “one liner” of your agency to post with contact info on site.
10. Michael will attend future meetings to continue working on this.
11. Everyone please look at the website so you will be able to provide input at the next meeting.

ii. One Night Homeless Count
1. Great Success and involvement.
2. Participation and volunteer numbers were up.
3. COVO was learning and involved, giving tremendous support.
4. Data entry is currently happening with COIC students.
a. Currently working on Deschutes County.
b. Crook and Jefferson County data entry is done.
c. Plan to go public with info at press conference March 20th.

iii. March 2009 – No regular meeting – ONHC Press conference and roll out for PHC on March 20th.
1. Bob will continue working with the media.
